Brenda has been with Net1 Group since the company was founded by Dr. S.C.P. Belamant and A.P. Mansvelt in September 1989. In June of 2004, Brenda was appointed Net1’s Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales a position she fulfilled until 2009 when as part of the group’s strategy to accelerate global expansion, she elected to manage a new wholly owned entity (NUETS) to drive the deployment of the UEPS across Africa and the Middle East.

Brenda has over the years gained extensive experience in the successful commissioning and deployment of the UEPS Switching, Settlement, Clearing and Smart Card Solution System and other related financial and non-financial applications.

Her all round skills in business development, sales, financial modelling, retail banking, finance and administration and her technological appreciation and understanding have allowed her to spearhead the NUETS team to accelerate UEPS growth and market share across the designated territories.

Brenda has over the past few years introduced an innovative working structure that makes use of a combination of matrix management as well as the cross training and multi-skilling between the various departments to ensure knowledge retention and growth into the future.

Mirza was appointed as Head of Sales, Marketing and Business Development in our Net1 International Division in 2007. He selected the challenge to move to the new wholly owned entity (NUETS) managing the same position as well as assisting in the operational processes involved with the testing and delivery of software applications.

Prior to joining Net1, he had previously worked closely with the Net1 teams throughout the implementation and commissioning of the UEPS technology in Malawi. Mirza joined the Reserve Bank of Malawi in 2001 and was included in the implementation and operational team nominated to manage the Malswitch System. It was here that he gained in-depth knowledge and experience of a fully integrated UEPS system involving the front-end and back-end operations and management there-of.

His past experience working for the Nedcor Group of South Africa as an Operations Manager and Process Re-Engineering Manager within the electronic banking and electronic payment arena has contributed towards his all round skills in business development, sales, retail banking and processes.

Tobie was appointed as Head of Operations & Project Management in our Net1 International Division in 2006. He retained this role in the new wholly owned entity (NUETS) to drive the deployment of the UEPS in existing countries using the technology as well as retaining the operational arm in respect of new country system implementations.

Tobie is responsible for overseeing project installation, implementation and commissioning, training and documentation, quality assurance and international call centre.

Prior to joining Net1, he had previously worked closely with the Net1 teams during his employment period with Nedbank South Africa where he was appointed as the National Operations Manager for POS, ATM and Corporate Payment Services for Nedbank South Africa.

It was here that he gained in-depth knowledge and experience to implement the necessary controls and procedures required for the successful delivery of such integrated switching systems.

His past working experience also includes the position of Services Manager for the African Oxygen Group (AFROX) from 1994 to 1998 and prior to that he was employed by Standard Bank in the Retail Banking arena, which have all contributed towards his all round skills in operations.
